The Ghost Camera is here!
Big heavy boxes of books
This is an update specifically aimed at all the wonderful people who supported The Ghost Camera book on Unbound and have been left in the lurch by all the shenanigans.
The books have been printed, shipped and they arrived with me this morning! I am so relieved.
Seriously folks, woot!
I am about to enter a period of very intense work and I was very worried they would arrive too late for me to sign and send them off.
In the picture above I was holding the only copy I had, and in fact I no longer even have that. I gave it to someone who might, if I’m lucky, help me get the story to a wider audience. I was goiong to apologise for a further delay in sending them but now I don’t have to.
So I am shaking my special pen, doing hand warm up exercises and I will be signing copies later today. My wonderful daughter has not only offered to complete the ‘fulfilment’ but was furious that I even considered anyone else. She loves fulfillment duties, she runs an occasional Etsy store thing and has visited us now and then to make use of our kitchen table to wrap items ready for posting. So The Ghost Camera books will start to be mailed out later this week.
I have a long list of names and addresses of the wonderful folks who supported the book, I managed to smuggle this out of Unbound before the whole thing was closed by the insolvency company.
I am using that list as the holy grail of supporters. However if you, or anyone you know might be on that list but might have moved in the intervening 18 months, please let me know in the comments. We will create a special email account for all communications, don’t plaster your address on a publicly available substack post.
I am using this substack account because it’s the only way I can communicate with the supporters of the book, so if you know anyone who has pledged for the book, can you send them the link to this update.
And for those who know nothing of this truly wonderful bit of speculative tech fiction that is so nearly plausible that you can’t see the join, I will be setting up a little shop thingy when I get back so if you hear that the Ghost Camera is a rather good read, you will be able to buy one at a very reasonable price.
I am also halfway through recording the audiobook, so that will also be available early next year on multiple audiobook outlets, and it’s not impossible there will be a digital version too. I might need a young person to help with that. I have tried setting up a Kindle style ebook before and made a right mess.
One last thing. The Ghost Camera contains no ghosts.
Enough, I need to start signing.

Hi Andy
As you might be able tom imagine, digging the correct information out of the post bankruptcy Unbound was not easy. If you don't mind sending your details/mail address etc to bobbyllewyootoob@gmail.com I can confirm that this very old and embarrassing email address is the one to use. My daughter has already send out piles of books, so she's ready to go
Many thanks
Robert
As one of your crowd-funding benefactors, I must register my sincere and heartfelt thanks. To discover that our collective investment had been absorbed by a defunct corporation was, to say the least, a significant inconvenience.
However, your response was a masterpiece of resourcefulness and commitment. You have demonstrated a personal integrity that completely overrides any programming, proving that the human spirit—or indeed, the mechanoid equivalent—can triumph over any obstacle. For that, we are in your debt, sir.
Thank you, most sincerely, and enjoy a most excellent day.
