Same for me. I'd much rather have the "intimacy" of a read to take at my pace, rather than a listen. Audio puts me off because of the timer telling me how long it will run (not) - having to pause/replay "did they really just say that...". and faffing to find the bud to stick in my ear. Nope, definitely a read, a chapter at a time.

"Thin He Was and Filthy Haired" remains one of history's great book titles.

I’m not great with audiobooks but I would love to read early chapters. At the moment your “news from” series is like land of the giants for me - did he ever get back home…

Absolutely, all of them! I usually read the print version of a book first, and if it's excellent and worth a re-read, I'll listen to the audiobook. Big fan of Neil Gaiman reading his own stuff. I'd love to hear you reading yours, too. (Also an Unbound backer of yours :-) )

I vote all of them, but I would enjoy the recording for two main reasons: (A) I love it when an author records an audiobook because they know and feel each sentence intimately, and that shows in their voice - this adds extra feeling to the piece. And (B) My job is essentially reading *all* day long, constantly. By the end of the day, I just cannot read any more! Audio is perfect - I can listen in the car, or at home with eyes closed, or while waliing to the shops. Love it! Thank you for the idea!

Are we, perhaps, more likely to approve of what you're written as we have your ear in the first place? I've backed all your books I think via Unbound, so how biased am I...? ;)

Equally however, I'm sure unlike social media, we're capable of a sensible and considered response, so it's certainly something I would like you to undertake. But just thinking of the effort involved, you're creating more work for yourself recording the audio, whereas I'm just as happy to read like I'm doing right now...
